What an album! Crushing riffs and solos, what more would you want from a Deth album? Probably still their best post 2000s album

Foreign policy. Dave likes the usa too much. Japan jumped the shark. The Philipines will still have kids. Rie Fu's son is might be the last of his nationality.

Dave won't vote for kanye west. Dave will vote for a white republican. I'm voting for Andrew Yang.

.Post USA, Japan isn't having any more kids, except that Rie Fu has a son. Post Japanese world will have no people on it.

Fatal illusion sounds to distorted at the start. then from there the harmonies come in.

Listened to this once when it first came out and thankfully revisited it. This is a very solid album and probably the best modern Megadeth album.

Very front loaded and definitely their weakest besides Super Collider and Risk. If it weren't for the 1st 3 songs Risk would top it from the nostalgia...

There is a riff pattern on Hangar 18 that was seen in many songs of this album, meaning too that Dave got that old chemistry of Marty with Kiko now. Listening to the 15 songs version It's better and of course, requires to listen a lot. Dystopia is a motif that a fan always wanted to see featuring on an album. Even Dave consider it now his favorite along RiP and PS...BWB. ;)

It's aight. I do think Dystopia the song is another Hanger 18 and as the Grammy winner will be on the set forever and it is a really good song. But years later I still only like 3 songs on here a lot. Dave and every fan can like what they like.

The weakest thing about this album for me is surprisingly Chris Adler's drums part. I mean, it's a breath of fresh air after Shawn Drover playing same beat over and over and over again of course, but Chris can do so much more in terms of technique. He feels so constrained here.

You guys need to try again on this album. This has proved to be my new go-to Megadeth album. I used to reach for Peace albums first but not as much since I feel in love with Distopia.

Now that the dust has settled, I would say that this is a truly solid album. It adds up to the latest idea of 'thrash' that Megadave was building while creating a new layer of originality on it. Last thoughts? Prolly one of the best albums from the old thrash bands from the last couple years.

Over two years with a bunch of playthroughs later and I still cannot get into this album. Great musicianship with a solid goal in mind, yet so little imagination and power to really make it interesting, engaging and fun. It seems to me the weakest link in Megadeth these days is Dave Mustaine himself. It just sounds so constrained somehow.

I'm on the fence about Foreign Policy, and combined with The Emperor is such a weak ending to this album. The first few tracks are typical Mustaine, but the mid section has some of his best material since the 90s.

I agree. The mid section is definitely the go-to material of this album. I tend to skip the rest though, aside from the title-track which I also think is great.
