"Daydream" was originally written by Avril Lavigne and Chantal Kreviazuk and intended to be on Avril's second studio album, 'Under My Skin' (2004). A snippet of Avril's version appeared online in January 2004 along with a snippet of the song "Don't Tell Me", which led fans to believe the two songs were in competition to be the lead single from the album. "Don't Tell Me" ended up being released as a single while "Daydream" was scrapped. Some years later, the track was given to Miranda who ended up releasing it as the eighth track on her debut studio album, 'Sparks Fly' (2010).
