Yep, good to know I'm not the only one who doesn't like it. I might give it another listen at some point in time. For now, I'll stick with their albums from Altars of Madness to Illud Divinum Insanus. I didn't like Kingdom Disdained either.

A super unpopular opinion, but I think this album is not good. I used to like it and then I didn't like it as time went by. I agree with Trey, I also consider this a demo. I'm glad Altars of Madness was released first.

I love Nocturnus, but this album makes you realize how important Commando was for this band's sound to happen.

Browning is a really good drummer AND singer, and he has his own sound and style. It's just not what Morbid Angel needed. Had they not replaced him with Sandoval, I don't think they would have come close to what they eventually become.

"Chapel of Ghouls is laughably bad compared to how it sounds on Altars of Madness. " You're a fucking moron too.

amazing record, mike browning is in my opinion the best vocalist morbid angel has ever had. his voice suits perfectly the lovecraftian atmosphere pouring from each song. this record is way ahead of its time, brutal as hell for 1986. Love Trey's 'backwards' and otherworldly style of riffing. genious...
