Mareridt (Danish for 'nightmare') is the second full-length studio album by Danish folk black metal artist Myrkur. The album was recorded between Copenhagen and Seattle with producer Randall Dunn, known for his work with Earth, Sunn O))), and Boris. Myrkur utilised an array of instrumentation including violin, mandola, folk drums and nyckelharpa (an ancient Swedish key harp), and the album features a collaboration with Chelsea Wolfe.

There are two artists under the name Myrkur; 1) Myrkur is a multi-genred musical project of Danish musician Amalie Bruun that evolved from black metal to dark folk music. Initially, the real-life identity of the person behind the project was kept unknown, however her identity has since been made public. Myrkur has released three full-length studio albums to significant critical acclaim, as well as a live album and one EP.
