Bingo. It's a different kind of feeling the one I have now, compared to my teen years. I'm curious to know what this will sound like when I'm +50. Guess I will just fucking cry cause some members will already be dead.

Their best track imho - and that's saying A LOT, as they have like dozens absolutely masterpiece tracks scattered through their whole discography.

I think the cover on this profile should be change. Josh Graham's reworked art of this album 2009 reissue and "Times of Grace" is a far better than original.

I agree, while it's definitely my favorite Neurosis record, it has one of the tackiest cover (only Pain of Mind is worse hehe)

Towering, intricate, powerful, dense, cerebral but still visceral as fuck. Few bands can rival Neurosis for sheer heaviness, and none of them combine that sludgy weight with complexity and intelligence the way Neurosis does. This band is as influential as Sabbath in their own way.

I remember one day in 1997, I walked by this album in a record store and was intrigued by the cover. I did not know the band at all, but that album cover spoke to me somehow, so I bought it. What can I say? This is album is *intense*! Listening to this album is like having a fever-ish nightmare where you wake up all sweaty and are afraid to go back to sleep. The weird thing about this album, is that it is surprisingly hard to stop listening to it once you've started, even if you are not into the music at all. It kind of sucks you right in. This, I guess, is what makes this a great piece of art. Anyone can write a song about how nice it is to lie in a meadow on a sunny summer day, with your head in your lover's lap or vice versa, the scent of flowers in the air, birds singing and all that. But making an album that sounds like the national anthem of some post-apocalyptic wasteland such that you *still* want to listen to it - that is ****ing art!

album's a goddamn war machine [2] Unbelievable energy on this one. Enemy of the sun is a great album too, but this one is and always will be my favorite.

I'm always amazed how can someone even mention Isis (Sisi) next to the best heavy band: Neurosis.
