Biography
Kabeer Kathpalia, a.k.a OAFF, is a music producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist who bridges the gap between atmospheric electronica and accessible, feel-good pop. OAFF first garnered international attention for his 2019 single 'For A While,' which has been streamed more than 1 million times on Spotify. The video for his 2020 single ‘Perpetuate,’ directed by Karan Vaidya, won indie publication The Indian Music Diary’s Best Music Video Award. His single ‘Heavy Headed’ (with Kayan) received favourable reviews in the Indian and international music press, while his previous single, “Youth” (with Landslands), premiered on VH1 India and received radio play on the BBC Asian Network. Born in Ahmedabad but currently working in Mumbai, Kathpalia studied physics and mathematics at university. After graduation, however, he chose to pursue his passion for music (astute listeners will recognise the minimalism of his songwriting and production style, which is almost mathematical in its precision and symmetry).
