Remarkably good stuff. The singer Terry Jones reminds me a lot of Mark Shelton’s singing style. The instrumentals are very sabbath-like but taken further to perfection of a primitive true doom metal sound.

There should be more Sabbath sounding music since the only thing I've come across that gives me the same kind of vibes is Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats.

I’ve found a lot of Sabbath sounding music this year. Pagan Altar comes the closest. The first one I looked into like this was Pentagram last year but I couldn’t get into them.

Temple of Mystery records will release a compilation of "never-heard before 80s rehearsals, early versions of songs (from the late 70s!) as well as singles and exclusive studio tracks" in December. Pre-orders are opened, can't wait to get my hands on one of these.

Still even if bait, I kind of agree. The 70s vibe is really strong with strong heavy blues leanings and even some UK folk inspiration that seemed to increase with time instead of wane. I am also often reminded of Jethro Tull. The difference is, that I totally dig that stuff in doom, and Pagan Altar pull it off wonderfully.

Finally got the Represses on Vinyl. Its always a better feeling to listen to those Song on Vinyl or Tape rather on Spotify

Still kicking myself for missing their gig when they were here last time in 2013. Gonna see them this summer, but it's not the same without Terry.

Loving the new album, I'm so glad to hear some new stuff by them, one of my all time favorite bands. "Alan, together with Pagan Altar members Diccon Harper and Andy Green, and session members Brendan Radigan and Andres Arango, performed two shows, as Time Lord, for the release of The Room of Shadows in 2017. The same lineup will perform select shows (as Pagan Altar) in 2018, in celebration of the band's 40th anniversary". Anyone have more info on this tour? Any chance they will play Europe next year?

Pagan Altar is the most underrated Heavy Metal band of all time. Probably my all time favorite Doom band.

I hope you don't have to wait long at all, but trust me.. it's worth the wait! It easily matches anything they've done previously. Nice touch too that they're releasing it on Tel's birthday, when it was originally supposed to come out on Al's in 2014.

It shouldn't be possible, but they just might have done it! Is it just 'Dance of the Vampires' and the title track that have been previewed so far?

Ah, I see! Hope you've been enjoying the previews! The album flows together really well, so I'm sure it'll be like hearing the tracks again for the first time.

Besides, Alan Jones is talking about re-recording the instrumental parts for the album that was to come out before Terry's death (my source is the official Pagan Altar fb page). Which means there is still hope for the album to be released one day, soon or later !

I've left tributes on other pages, so I'll just leave a simple one here. R.I.P. Terry, thanks for the legacy.
