Once he was strong, and filled with visions. With life ahead he set his aims. Then things went wrong. Now his ambitions have turned to smiles conserved in frames. Still could be strong could be a prophet! He would teach truth to every man! He'd see the light through every shadow, but Entropia denies he can!

do you guys have a favorite Pain of Salvation moment? mine is in "Used" where Daniel sings: "I'll let you CUM, in my mouth on your lip, so ready and thirsty for the next JIZZ, you let me CUM, I let you CUM, I'd never let you CUM, you let me CUM??? I let you COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM (getting used to coom, getting used to coom) I AM COOOOOMING... uncoomed jizz to this porno-oooooo"

Daniel covering Prince in that recent little show in his hometown Eskilstuna is smth i dreamt of hearing, honestly. I never heard Daniel mentioned Prince artistically or in any other way as inspiration throught his career, but this time he as a metalhead and a man of taste, covers that forgotten but amazing jam 'Anotherloverholenyohead' from Parade album :)

Tá gostoso poder escutar PoS no Spotify no Brasil e poder divulgar a banda pra todas as pessoas, compartilhar as músicas de indiretas nos Stories, etc.

idk what to make of the new thing. Only song that really clicked was Wait. Rap parts on the title track were good too. The rest of it is just kinda weird and not great??? I'm gonna keep listening hoping it starts to sink in properly but ngl I'm not feeling it so far

I think Daniel finally nailed the whole Korn/Nu metal thing with that song. Not that I'm crazy about nu metal. But he did a good job.

Finally, a breath of fresh air. I've been wanting this since I knew them in 2007. Good, good, good. Scarsick has a brother now.

While I wouldn't go as far as Mr. C above, I only listen to Scarsick if it's to spin "Disco Queen." Everything else on that album left me a little disoriented. That said, PANTHER has some amazing cuts, including the title track, "Wait," "Keen to a Fault," and "Icon."

I like how video for Accelerator is nonchalant, despite having that epic last chours. It's like we are back in Scarsick era, thematically speaking. Sonically we will see how album will turn out, but for now far better than that forgettable single 'Reasons'. Vocally i always loved his range & phrasing. Early in his career he partially was prone to dramatic expression, but evolved through years. It doesn't seem that vibrancy of his voice changed at all, except maybe when hitting those high notes. He was never emotionally phlegmatic and that is the thing that adorned Daniel's voice, still can be felt when he sings bridges and slow passages, where vibration and resonance is filled with intense emotional stimulation... something that Caligula's Horse, Leprous, Haken & the rest can only dream about.

Scarsick is their worst album. Reasons is a great single. Caligula's Horse, Leprous and Haken have great singers and there's nothing to dream about.

I wouldn't rank Scarsick anywhere near top in POS catalog. Thematically is always on the brink of the cliff to be naive (for my taste), probably cuz of the concept that tries to be conscious at all costs. As a concept it seems rigid, but Daniel makes it look so easy, some compositions have a great flow and regardless of a bad reputation nothing similar never appeared in so-called prog metal unvierse (where POS usually radiates) - so i will give this album credit for that. Btw, Daniel itself said that his least favorite album is 'One Hour By a Concrete Lake'.

Or Kingdom of Loss? No one mentions his trademark, a partly spoken like word songs which only he can pull-off in prog kingdom. Even if topic is a bit over the top - "all for sale" & stuff (someone would call him a pompous lyricist, but he really isn't... or with his lovely persona he just got away with it) some sublime vocal harmonies in chours and guitar playing are present, esp. during 2nd chours guitar by Hallgren w/ solo which continues by layering heavier atmosphere till the end. In 2018 in Barcelona he performed it live, and you can see how actually convincing he can be delivering a message + sweet melodies ... from 17:08 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEeP_cY3Cvw.

I agree wholeheartedly. I like how despite being nonchalant, the video is also very clear on the message he intended. I find Reasons one of the weakest songs of ITPLOD, the fact this new single is so good got me immediately more excited for the new album. Also going back to Scarsick thematically is something I've been wishing for a while, I hope that's really where this is going. All bands you mentioned have really great singers, but none of them achieve such emotional rawness as Daniel does, and I particularly love it when he can deliver the same emotional effect while not singing about directly intense personal topics.

LEO got unleashed here big time, and it seems that Daniel didn't have this much fun since Road Salt sessions. Johan Hallgren's presence helps for sure.

They're great, but Remedy Lane and In the Passing Light of Day beat them by a mile.

Upon approaching the band I was quite interested by the fact that PoS has Faith no More as a similar artist at Metal Archives, but while listening to the band's discography I haven't really felt the connection except for some funky bass lines on Entropia and occasional Mike Patton impersonations done by Gildenlöw in heavier parts of their songs. Overall not my type of prog as most of the songs are very somber and not instrumentally driven.

POS is more Dream Theater but with a hint of FNM. POS is there own band, but if I were to ever to ever characterize the band in a stupid simple way my description would be Dream Theater with Mike Patton on Vocals.

This is the kind of crap that the kids listen to on a consistent basis, alright? I mean, and then we are wondering why our children are becoming a bunch of sexual deviants and criminal dumbasses? I mean, are you kidding me? It's an utter disgrace. You know folks, I've tried and I've tried and I've tried again on a consistent basis to tell everyone that all this prog metal malarkey has done nothin' but turn all the males that listen to this crap into criminal sexually deviants and it has turned all the women that listen to this ridiculous malarkey into subliminal prostitutes. These people don't care their lives are bein' flushed down the toilet. THESE PEOPLE DON'T CARE! IT MAKES ME SICK!! I told you that this crap was coming! You should be ashamed of yourselves! It's a disgrace. It's disgustin'. You're sellin' yourselves and you're not even gettin' anything in return for it! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!!!

Physical and especially mental pain of individual human being can be monstrous, no doubt. I'm not a psychologist and there are such great albums.. but hasn't anyone noticed the narcissism of Gildenlow? Or are people just so easily manipulated by emotional influnces?

I think it's better to be a narcissiist than a depressive fucking wreck. One of prog musicians said that, can't remember who, exactly. I am both, actually, at times I hate myself and at times I am narcissistic AF, and sometimes it happens all at once. That is to say that I definitely don't mind narcissism coming from the right people. Daniel has full damn right to be who he is.

You think Gildenlöw is narcissistic, you should see Glenn Danzig. I was able to see them on the same stage last week within two hours of each other so I could compare. No idea what that dude was about.

It's kind of a contradiction regarding prog music. I would understand comments "sexy beast" or "don't mind narcissism of artist" when talking about some commercial shit like r'n'b or pop. For me, prog music should always present something deeper and objective thinking reflecting the mind of artist that is based on reason and then feelings. Gildenlow's message arises from thinking his personal life (especially his cry baby attitude) is above everything. It's not. Feeling pain is part of life and you may tell a story. Making a god of yourself because of it is embarrassing. For example, compare Gildenlow's sob to Redemption's This mortal coil and you see difference.

Hallgren seems like such a nice guy (but) in this particular case I'd prefer Daniel Magdic as a replacement, if you know what I mean.
