Paris is the debut studio album by American media personality and singer Paris Hilton, released by Warner Bros. Records. The album was released in the United States on August 22, 2006. The entire album was posted on AOL Music on August 13, 2006, causing the album to be leaked on the Internet nine days before the scheduled release date. As of March 2011, the album has sold 197,000 copies in the US.
Critical reception for the album was mixed to positive. Allmusic commented that the album was "more fun than anything released by Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson, and a lot fresher, too.". At Metacritic, the album received an average score of 57, based on 17 reviews, indicating "mixed or average reviews.
The album peaked at #1 on the Turkish Albums Chart, #4 on the Canadian Album Chart, #6 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and #29 on the UK Albums Chart
The lead single "Stars Are Blind" was one of the highest debuting singles in the U.S. in 2006, entering the Billboard Hot 100 at number eighteen due to strong digital sales. It also peaked at #1 on the US Hot Dance Club Songs (Billboard). "Turn It Up", the second single, peaked at #1 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play. "Nothing in This World" was released on August 28, 2006 and is the second official single taken from Paris Hilton's debut album Paris, and features vocals from then-unknown pop singer Kesha. The song loosely concerns an unrequited love.
