This is where it started for me, understanding the great band behind all this stuff and of course the guy at the helm singing and writing most everything, with this just stellar band behind him and some eye-opening guest spots by Mr. Belew and Mikael showing up here and there too. It’s not maybe as inspired as what came before and after but it’s one I still love.

Beautiful sound in Steven's career, it is hard to dismiss the PT nostalgia hunters when you really sit and listen to what was captured.

You guys who hate the production on the CD version should check out the 5.1 mix. It's a lot better. It's probably possible to find stereo downmixes floating around the internets too.

Outside of maybe "In Absentia", this is probably my favorite album these guys ever did. I have all their stuff going back to "Up The Downstair", and this one is just really well written.

It's a pretty solid album. @UnleashTheW0lvz, the horrible Loudness War treatment hit the album.

Though great it's not the best PT album and even so the choruses are the best of any album.

I've been with Porcupine Tree since "Signify", and I really think "Deadwing" is their finest album. There my be moments on other albums that are better, but for my money, as a whole piece of cohesive work, "Deadwing" is it.

"No, the production is great! I can listen to this stuff on my iPod (absolutely the best way to listen to music) in a crowded bus or tram. Steven's new stuff is shit, it's too quiet. I can't hear a thing." ...what.
