Still hits me like a ton of bricks, especially when I'm not prepared for it. The line "strange how you never become, the person you see when you're young" followed by that mournful yet nostalgic solo... I usually stay away from this song because I know how it's going to make me feel, and as you get older it only becomes more poignant and ultimately sad.

I couldn't agree more... it's a punch right in the stomach. Makes me kind of look to my life both in a nostalgic and retrospective way.

I'm lying on the floor and crying. That solo [2] <3 It is definitely one of the best I've heard, probably in the top 5.

Strange how you never become...the person you see when you're young. That part gets me everything, how a song I just started listening to a couple years ago makes me nostalgic I don't know, but this one takes me back a lot :-)

This song is the feeling you get when it's all said and done and each one followed their separate ways, but still you can't help but think about how it was and how it could have been. You try to convince yourself that there might be a way back, "if I could find you... or maybe just write...", but you know that things just can't be the way they were before. It's just a vain hope that comforts you when you feel nostalgic. Thank you, PT.

I suspect this song is likely about his songwriting partner from his first album: Alan Duffy. Always brings a tear to my eye when I hear it.

Love those lyrics, makes me feel nostalgic for when I was younger: who knew what we'd be...
