"Geoff did the track while he and I were on tour, and Beth whizzed in with another song from somewhere else, and sung it over the top, and it worked. It has backward piano and stuff. And we added hurdy–gurdy from our friend Stu Barker, and Will Gregory played baritone sax on it. That's what he started on, sax — and we made him be a free jazz player that day. Will and I have played together for years — I have tapes of us playing jazz from 1989. He used to play with Michael Nyman and the London Sinfonietta, and he played sax and oboe on our New York orchestral gig. For this, we told him just to go fucking mad, to freak the fuck out. He had to move out of the room, so we couldn't see him, so he'd feel less inhibited." -Adrian Utley
