What a beautiful journey of a record! The pop perfection of side one and then the pure emotional beauty of side two (from All The World Loves Lovers onward) is outstanding. Working out the concepts and themes and how they blend together never gets tiresome. Steve McQueen may be the popular consensus of Prefab Sprout's magnum opus, but Jordan: The Comeback is the true masterpiece.

A great album but I was SO disappointed with the follow up. Someone give Paddy Thomas Dolby's phone number again.......

One of the best albums ever made. I gather Martin is driven nuts trying to prod, poke, cajole, lure his bro into giving his adoring fans more. All those fully recorded albums on the shelf, new songs languishing on the back of shopping lists... Paddy seems punished by success and failure - couldn't bear to be special. If I could write like that, I'd never shut up. Give us a song, you dummy! If not for us, for your pension.
