I've always been amazed that people prefer this to Evil Heat. XTRMNTR starts strongly but simply blows its entire load on the first four songs. The rest of it sounds like a (rightly) abandoned Portishead album. Terribly overrated, while Evil Heat is totally underrated and has consistently better songwriting all the way through to the end of the album.

nme (lol) described it as war you can dance to; i'll admit i find that an incredibly apt description. [2]

I never took Primal Scream seriously because of stuff like [track artist=Primal Scream]Rocks[/track], but then they came out with this album and it just freakin' blew me away! Still a fave of mine.

Apart from Bobby's typically brain-dead lyrics (SICK FUCK SICK FUCK SICK FUCK, really?) and some meh tracks, solid. Probably the last awesome Primal Scream album too...

This is my first time listening to this band, and I've never ever encountered anything quite like them. I'm loving this band on my first hear-through! (BTW that never happens)

MBV Arkestra is proof that you can completely 'trip out' (hate that term) while being totally sober.

Great album. I wish they'd produced more material in this style. Also, one of the coolest album covers ever imo.

Maybe the best album of the decade. Shame it didn't unfluence people to produce noisey, heavier tracks. I blame The Strokes.
