yet another case where I was put off from an album due to it's vitriolic hate, but then actually loved when I checked it out.

Les' least favourite album. He called it directionless. Which is funny cos I like it for its eclecticism.

Not nearly as bad as it's said to be. Has a few absolute gems in their discography, probably their heaviest alongside Frizzle Fry.

Not a fan of this album.... There are to many outside influences contributing on this record that it takes away from what makes Primus great... that being, PRIMUS. The guitar on Electric Uncle Sam, Power Mad and Mama didn't raise no fool, sound just like they were taken from a Rage Against the Machine Record... not something Larry Lalonde would write. I see this album as almost a collaboration effort than a true Primus record. The only real Primus tracks on this record in my mind are Final Voyage of Liquid Sky, Antipop and to an extent Lacquer head.

Electric Uncle Sam, Lacquer Head, The Antipop, Eclectic Electric, Mama Didn't Raise No Fool, Ballad of Bodacious, Final Voyage of the Liquid Sky... I'd say those are good enough arguments for me that this isn't a bad album.

This album isn't that bad. It's my least favorite album, but still it's primus. I personally don't really like nu metal tho, and I think they should have stuck to their old sound. none the less this has some good songs like, Liqueur head, The Anti Pop, The Final Voyage of Liquid Sky, and The Ballade of bodacious....

get off your High horse... music is too enjoy regardless of if it was made with a record label behind them or in someone's basement... don't let this self-righteous prick talk you outta good music just because this doesn't sound like early Primus... think what you wanna think I don't give a shit just don't try and make me feel like I just stabbed my own mother because I listen to this album... and for your information I've been following Primus since Sailing the seas album but honestly it doesn't even matter if this was the first album I've ever heard like I said Music is to enjoy! thats the bottomline

antipop is a horrible album BECAUSE it was commercial. The reason a lot of people like it is because it allows people that wouldnt dig or even know about earlier Primus to get down to a safe "metal" album with guest appearances from several nu metal gaylords that were popular at the time. It was obviously a move to mainstream primus, on the part of the band and label. if you ask any hardcore fan, lacquer head is the standout track - because it sounds like old primus. the direction primus took on the brown album and even to some extent tales from the punch bowl, with the rawer sound and less intricacy, was actually pretty heavy. then they decided to make a complete turd of an album and play tours with limp bizkit. even the stuff theyve released after antipop has been pretty crappy. its too bad les claypool pours his creativity into the solo stuff now.
