I don't know how I found out about PP. I saw the music video for Rain some years ago and i really liked it. Then Timekiller popped up. I feel like this band becoming a fast favourite since like 2018, is cause youtube recommendations or Spotify, but due to my listening history, it was only a matter of time. 2021 was like peak PP for me.

Having only really discovered Project Pitchfork in November 2022 (although I have watched a few videos on YouTube over the years), I have to say at the age of 52, and being a music lover , PP is fast becoming my favourite band of all time. So many great albums, difficult to pick my favourite, but Alpha Omega, Eon:Eon, Chakra Red and Io have to be strong contenders.

Dirk Scheuber left PP after 32 years... uh. I'm curious when Scheubi stopped participating in album production, as if "the worst era of Pitchfork" (post-Blood" has something in common. || Either way, I'm both sad and excited - sad, because it was Scheubi creating so amazing sound for all these decades (and I'm really hoping he will come back eventually), excited because Pitchfork's sound was most distinctive when PP was more than a trio, merging different visions. I'm still not sure what to feel about this, but I hope this will be for the better.

Half way through the new album finally and it is not good at all, last few albums are just blah, very disappointed. I'll keep trying but I sure miss the more experimental Santa Hates You which has sounded much more like old 'Fork than current 'Fork. Last few albums are too slow, all his anger and contempt is all but gone.

"Fragment"... well. Generally it's better than last two works, I think. It's no longer "interesting intro, then exactly same sound" - songs sound quite same-ish, but interesting parts appear more often and that's great! But it frustrates even more while you hear some really cool Fragments (haha), like in "Peruse How Infinite You Are", and then unfitting slow tempo kinda distracts you from more intense feeling. Lyrics finally persuade me, they are not as awesome as in earliest years, but at least memorable enough. Last thought? It's kinda funny that the best song is in the end - "The Universe" is really nice and it's the only song I can't criticise for anything. It's also the fastest song on album. Hope it will be the staple, binding quite average Pitchfork times in the end part. I keep fingers crossed for third part of trilogy being really great comeback, as was with "Blood" album.

Their famous sound seems to be here...but something is missing. I guess their magical stories times are over.

...and second part of trilogy, "Fragment", is going to be released 12th October 2018. I'm afraid Spilles went too far with planning that many releases in short time, I feel it especially after disappointment called "Akkretion". But I keep my fingers crossed strongly, for 2nd & 3rd parts of trilogy being much better, as it was with NUN trilogy and EPs being better than Inferno.

I am glad I also discovered the album Alpha Omega and the EP's Corps D' Amour and En Garde!. It seems like they had a strong phase in the mid 90's.

New album was a huge disappointment. I did not keep one song, last album was not good as well. But I trust enough in the 'Fork to continue to try each new album, there can be a hidden gem like Beholder and Blood-Stained (Give Me Your Body) on occasion. I still wait patiently for another Santa Hates You album as well....................... :(

Well I met Peter in 2010 and he revealed they were married! I suspect it is not a busy issue based on that, I hope they did not break up but he is a private person and I certainly do not want to make assumptions when I know nothing.

Uh.. first listen of Akkretion is done. And again I don't know what to say. Let's take my first thought: it's better than "Look Up, I'm Down Here", for sure. It has more electronic sounds to offer, a bit more everything. But... it's still the same. I'm afraid Project Pitchfork lost their ideas of how to write music: lyrics are not as simple as they used to be (and that was great thing, really!) and when I really like ambitious, symbolic art, here it's someway out of place. I don't know, I don't feel latest two albums when it comes to lyrics. It just doesn't resonate with my soul anymore. And sound? Sometimes it's nice. Especially beginnings. But here comes again, this idea PP use lately: interesting intro, then exactly the same monotonous electronic sound. It's not agressive, it's not really slow - somewhere in between, like ballads. But I don't feel it also. / The only one real gem from Akkretion is self-titled song, yet. But sadly, I need to ask: where are you going, dear PP?

Project Pitchfork are releasing too much music, like every other year? I'm still in Project Pitchfork's Black album 'era' and that came out in 2013... Blood came out quickly after that and I didn't hear any of Look Up I'm Down here or Akkretion... gonna check out the latest one but I understand this review definitely

It is always great to come back listening to PP. I love the View From A Throne EP, the albums IO, Kaskade, Daimonion and Lam-'bras. I need to check out their newer albums.

True it is not a P Pitchfork-ish sound but still i think if people are into the genre of Pitchfork they should hear Ruhestätte Schwarz as well. And good you also see that combo as being great :)

Everything I was lately expecting from Project Pitchfork (and Absurd minds) was delivered by Scheuber himself with his two albums. There is a silver lining in all, I guess ;)

Never found any information about it either, but I think it's some kind of symbol of era. Like blood (maybe symbolizes the agression) is red, so is the line on his face, the new album is more calm or dare I said "melancholic" and so is the blue color - the symbol of tranquility. Or it's doesn't carry any meaning and he just likes the color.

I'm also 3 years long fan! Discovered them in Autumn 2013, to be more accurate.. and you know, we can only wondering until we haven't any interview sayin' about this fact. But yes, the idea of something brought from personal life is interesting. Also, it can be something from eastern philosophy/religions, as many Pitchfork' early stuff is dedicated in it. (Chakras, Lam-bras, Dhyani and whole things through years) Now when I think about it, one new thought came, just from nowhere - maybe this blue line symbolises river? As something giving life.. also notice that Peter wears Ankh on live shows nowadays, which meaning is quite the same. ;) By the way, before wearing Ankh he used to wear heptagram symbol which is also chakras symbol (so, mentioned eastern religion element) despite being Pitchfork main symbol for years.

It's strange that nobody ever asked him about it before. And shame on me but I never seen any live concerts so I don't knew about his "obsession" with west-symbols х) But I guess that you idea about river is the more occurate and correct because it is really looks like river and now it makes sense to me. Thanks for the info I really don't knew it, it's interesting.

Yup, this very old era of Pitchfork was probably best - stuff like "Corps D'Amour", mentioned "¡Chakra:Red!" or "Dhyani", maybe "Alpha Omega/IO" too.. it was what made PP the most important band for me. I can say I like much every LP/EP/whatever of them, but these albums were perfect, when after NUN trilogy only "Kaskade" has special meaning for me. Not saying albums after Kaskade were weak, as I started from them, but they are just very different things.

I so agree with Toma. Titanes and Furious Numbers were the stand outs and I miss anything Pitchfork from the 1990's... every album from that era is a masterpiece from Dhyani up to Eon:Eon. Daimonion went away from their signature Industrial sound but still was good.... just different.

I think the problem is that this album is quite cohesionless in sound at first listen, what I couldn't see before in PP releases.. what is funny, cause I feel quite same inconsistent mood recently. I don't really know what to think after hearing it once - probably it's a bit more difficult to get into this release than I expected. But as every single album by them has even symbolic meaning for me, I'm so thankful for PP, as some songs caught me in heart and seems they will do it again with each next listen. Also gave me some hope which I hardly feel recently. For me, there are three outright highlights: "Titânes", title track and "Furious Numbers". Second one for really touching lyrics and atmosphere, which I love the most when it comes to Pitchfork. I wish they would make something like "¡Chakra:Red!" with its "Human Crossing" and "December Sadness" again..

Upon first listen, I am not impressed. This album sounds like Quantum Mechanics which was kind of experimental and slow and I did not enjoy. Blood was a way better album.... but I'll listen to it over and over for awhile and see if I still feel the same way. I enjoy the faster more aggressive Pitchfork and there is not much here like that at all.

Damn, tripodthunter, where did you find it? I went into PP site specially to check it, but I couldn't find anything, as well in their shop. I can't thought about Project Pitchfork splitting up.. I saw Jurgen Jansen used to often change positions from audio worker to band member and vice versa years ago (this band members listing on CDs are teaching well) but this eternal trio can't break up, it will be next heartbreak for me this year.
