Rahsaan Patterson is Contemporary R&B's "Renaissance Man," and the artist's self-entitled (pre-millenium) solo release was, to say the least, ahead of its time. From the slow-grooving ballad, Spend the Night, to the midtempo melodies, including Where You Are, Come Over and Ain't No Way, to name a few, the album not only set Patterson apart as an exemplary songwriter and champion vocalist; additionally to the artist's credit, the project paved the way for a mecca of Neo Soul AND New Jack singers to break ground in the mainstream music arena, using this, Pattersons first project, as the prototype. Beautifully blended! Well-versed! Nouveau Soul, Masterminded!
