The song was previously called “Ankara” and has a reference to the Iraq War. At the beginning of the song, a Turkish-speaking woman sings, something new for Rammstein.

Christian “Flake” Lorenz told a daily newspaper the following about the song “Zerstören" (german for Destroy): “This is our country song about George W. Bush and is meant completely seriously. He behaves in the world like a child who wants to destroy everything. But he only grabs other people’s things!”
