In 2015, Flex joined a group of young rappers who went to Schiermonnikoog for fifteen days to make music together. This group included Frenna, Lil Kleine and Jonna Fraser. Together, the multiple rappers made the album New Wave. It became an unprecedented success and popularized Dutch rap massively. Almost half of its singles entered the Downloads Top 100, while the album peaked at #11 on the Dutch Album Top 100 and stayed on the charts for 178 weeks. It is one of the highest-selling albums of all time in the Netherlands. Retrospective critics often cite it as one of the most influential albums of all time for Dutch popular culture. The album’s single “Drank & Drugs” by Flex and Lil Kleine peaked at Number 1 on the Dutch official Top 40. A German re-recoridng of the version became a Top 20-hit in Germany. The song ranks as one of the biggest hits of the 2010s.

Many back-to-back hits followed, including “Zeg Dat Niet” and “Niemand”. Flex also performed at Lowlands Festival. Between 2015 and 2016, 32 songs and collaborations charted on Dutch Downloads Top 100, supported by immense success on Spotify and YouTube. Highlights include the Top 5-hits “Niet Omdat Het Moet” and “1, 2, 3”, both in collaboration with Lil Kleine.

Its singles “Energie” with Frenna and “Come Again” with Boef became the breakout hits, both peaking at #2 on the Dutch official Top 40. The album has retroactively been praised as one of the most iconic Dutch rap albums of all time.
