Biography
Israeli-born Guitarist Rotem Sivan Splashes onto the NY Jazz Scene with Debut Album "Enchanted Sun" on Steeplechase Lookout.
Sivan is quickly establishing himself as a new voice in the New York Jazz Scene. His musical palette draws from classical and jazz influences combined with ethnic elements. In his recently recorded album Sivan skillfully fuses these into a new approach to the Jazz Guitar Trio instrumentation.
The album was released in June 2013 on Steeple-Chase Records. The talented guitarist is a prizewinner of the International Competition of Montreux Jazz Festival, 2009.
In the summer of 2010 the Rotem Sivan Group was invited to perform at the renowned Bern Jazz Festival, playing side by side with the McCoy Tyner Quartet. In 2012, Mr. Sivan graduated with honors from the New School University in NYC, where he was awarded a full scholarship. In addition, Sivan was awarded three scholarships for Excellency by Tel Aviv University where he completed his B.A. studies in Composition and Classical Music, 2008.
