А я думаю худший, они не раскрыли тут свой потенциал. Выпустили обычный альбом ,который не был каким-то оригинальным

Writing lyrics wasn't certainly one of the strengths of those 3 individuals, at all.

Very interesting in the book "Anthem: Rush in the 70s" by Martin Popoff, Geddy and Alex claim that John Rutsey was the band's lyricist, but he was incredibly moody, maybe even had bi-polar, who knows. He had lyrics to these songs written up, but for some reason, he wouldn't let the band use them when they were recording the tracks, so Geddy and Alex had to quickly write some lyrics over a five day period. I'm sure Rutsey deeply regretted that, never getting a songwriting credit on a Rush album.

My favourite Rush album. Not a massive prog person. Much more into Sabbath/Purple. I love this album though

this album gets too much hate; there's nothing wrong with some high quality zeppelin worship you can rock out to. can you imagine rush having gone down the same road as thin lizzy or judas priest? i mean I guess they would have gone some degree of prog without neil peart anyway given their tastes but still

I thought that some of the more straightforward songs are a bit textbook and somewhat uninteresting. "Finding My Way" and "What You're Doing" are surprisingly good songs and "Working Man" is a classic--I must admit, I bought that album for that one song. John Rutsey is a decent drummer, but he is far from Neil Peart. A good addition for die-hard Rush fans, but nothing too special. If you are into old hard rock, you may really like this, but I would not recommend anyone to begin their Rush experience with this album.

The album cover art reminds me of a Jack Kirby-drawn explosion panel. Excellent!

Haha, listening to this is like a time-warp back to the '70s. Wish I liked the vocals, this is really catchy musically.

the whole comparison to led zep is way over the top, the only thing that resembles zepps on this lp are the parts when geddy does this 'hooo-yeeah' thing..

Listening for the first time right now on vinyl and am so glad that, although extremely late, I have discovered the sonic beauty of RUSH!!

By far the coolest album art. They always have amazing album covers. However I have not liked Snakes & Arrows art or the other new ones after Vapor Trails.

So what if it's really Led Zeppelin like? It's still damn awesome for a debut album.

As a Rush album: It's just OK. As a straight laced hard rock album: It is far above average. It's up there with Led Zeppelin I. Seriously, this album kicks loads of ass.
