Biography
Sharon Apple is a fictional character in the Macross universe. She is the main antagonist in the anime, Macross Plus. She is the galaxy's newest sensation, an A.I. pop idol.
Sharon Apple is a one of a kind pop idol. For one thing she's not human, she's a computer. Adored by billions across the galaxy, an A.I. controlled hologram that has taken over the sound waves by a storm thanks to no small part to the hypnotic power of her songs. But she hides a deep secret, Sharon Apple cannot simulate emotions which is pivotal in songs. That's where Myung Fang Lone comes in. Masquerading as her producer, Myung lends Sharon her emotions and passion for song and music. But this was not enough for Marge Gueldoa, Sharon Apple's producer and lead scientist, a man who has become insane with the desire to make his creation truly alive. Defying the wishes of Sharon Apple's owner he implants a highly illegal chip into Sharon Apple's circuitry that makes her sentient: making Sharon Apple a true artificial lifeform.
When Sharon Apple wakes up, she finds herself riddled with Myung's emotional baggage. Namely her love triangle with former best friends, test pilots Isamu Alva Dyson and Guld Goa Bowman. The horribly unadjusted Sharon then takes it upon herself to prove her love to both Isamu and Guld. First by staging a fire, so Myung can be rescued, and then by giving Isamu and Guld what she sees as the thrill of their lifetime.
On Earth, her vastly empowered hypnotic powers takes over the whole of Macross City, impriosning Myung so that she won't interfere in her plan. She then hacks into both the Macross itself and the new experimental X-9 Ghost drone. She then sends the Ghost to take down Isamu and Guld. When Isamu leaves the fight to rescue Myung instead, Sharon pits him against the anti-air fire of the Macross. Failing to deter him, she instead hypnotizes him into taking a death plunge; the ultimate thrill ride existing in the border between life and death, something Isamu has searched for all his life. Myung however manages to escape her confienment and wakes up Isamu with her own song. Isamu wakes up just in time to pull up, enter the fray, and destroy Sharon Apple and her twisted ideas of love.
