Shea Couleé is the stage name of Jaren Kyei Merrell, a artist, musician, actor, podcaster, and fixture of the nightlife scene. Born in Warsaw, Indiana, they began their drag career in 2012. In 2017 Couleé achieved international fame as the second runner-up during Season 9 of television's RuPaul's Drag Race. She went on to win the fifth season of RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars in 2020 before returning for the seventh season in 2022, once again placing in the top four.

In June 2017, "Ride", "Cocky (feat. Lila Star & The Vixen)", and "Feeling So", 3 tracks from her debut EP Couleé-D, were released with accompanying music videos.

In 2018, she re-released "Crème Brûlée", originally written in 2013 as her first song. The accompanying music video was named the Best Drag Music Video of 2018 by Billboard. Over the next year, she released "Gasoline" and "Rewind" in collaboration with GESS. In 2020 she released "Collide", a collaboration with GESS and Mykki Blanco, which she performed during the premiere episode of All Stars 5.

In 2022 she released "Your Name", performing it for the variety show of All Stars 7, which she won. This was followed by "Let Go" and a joint music video for both songs was released on August 5.
