This is not an good album, i think never a word like "good" or "amazing" its enough to describe how much of a piece of art this is.. I´m so glad and happy that those four minds were capacable to create this..

I took to this immediately upon release but have to be in a specific mindset to listen to it at present. It has this reverential, funereal air that can feel like an emotional suckerpunch. So minimalistic yet so heavy; achingly beautiful in an ephemeral and solemn way.

On the day of the Sandy Hook massacre, to extricate myself from the barrage of news around it I went outside for a walk and listened to this album. I haven’t at all since.

Definitely my favourite album by Sigur Ros. I remember listening to it during high school without even knowing what "ambient music" actually was. It has marked some very special moment of my life. I hardly come back to this (or to Sigur Ros in general), but when I do I always feel pretty upset, in a good way

More ambient than their other releases, this album is more about setting a mood than taking a musical journey through Sigur Rós' soundscape. Though I don't spin this as much as Ágætis byrjun, Takk..., Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust, or Kveikur, I still love this album and the way it helps me relax.

I know this is pretty shameless self-promotion, but if you're into ambient/soundscapes/etc., you might like my new release, Summer Ghosts. It's ambient music inspired by amazing talents like Sigur Rós, Jonsí & Alex, Brian Eno, Tycho, and more, so check it out if you'd like! You can find both of my releases at https://bestghosts.bandcamp.com/. Have a good one.

The only disappointment about this album is that I can´t hear it in subway with my old headphones. My bad. Valtari´s definitely a brave and incredibly beautiful LP. And yes, If you don't feel anything when listening to Dauðalogn or Varúð you are most likely dead inside [5]

Did nothing for me the first 11 listens. Then BOOM. [2] Valtari is such a humble and overlooked masterpiece!
