Skrillex, Justin Bieber, and Don Toliver team up on “Don’t Go.” The production is handled by Skrillex and record producer HARV. The vocals are handled by Justin and Don, who both sing about wanting their own significant others to remain by their side, as discussed on the former’s chart-topping July 2021 single, “Stay,” a collaboration with The Kid LAROI.

On August 16, 2021, the three artists announced the song on social media. The cover art was revealed two days later with its pre-save. Fans theorized that the song was recorded in April or May 2021 due to a promotional picture of the three artists, which sees Justin with dreadlocks in his hair, along with the visuals, which he had between those two months.

The official music video premiered with the song on Skrillex’s YouTube channel on August 20, 2021.
