Following his first EP The Black House, Sleepy Hallow drops his first album with no features and third album overall, with all songs being produced by Winner’s Circle’s longtime producer Great John.
Teased on February 4, 2021 via his Instagram Story, it was expected to release the same month but was delayed due to unknown reasons.
On May 1, 2021, Sleepy again posted another update about the album on his Instagram Story stating that the delay isn’t his fault, all the while building up more hype.
"Album coming .. I promise it’s gon be worth it & I aint the one holding it up 🤧🤷🏽♂️"
The hype eventually led to a leak of most of the album’s tracks the next day, May 2, 2021, where most of the tracklist’s previously unheard songs were leaked onto Soundcloud.
On May 26, 2021, after more than 15 weeks since the initial tease, Sleepy officially confirmed the release date and tracklist via an Instagram post, with a few tweaks done to the tracklist; changing the outro track’s initial name from “Gloomy Conscious” to “Murda She Wrote” and adding two more songs as bonuses.
The bonuses included are “Lowkey,” a popular unreleased track from Sleepy formerly known as “Trust,” and “Tip Toe,” a track with the other half of the well-known New York duo, best friend and frequent collaborator Sheff G.
