The tracklist above is fucking hilarious. Every other song has a "voice over" on it whatever that's supposed to mean.

Hasn't aged well? This album is literally peak Soilwork. It's their best album, and its not even close. Their 2010+ albums may be more technical, but in a forgettable wanky way (technicality does not equate to quality song writing). The riffs are catchy and solid as hell from starts to finish on STD. This production alone is fantastic, and the guitar tone alone is a reference album. The grooves are massive.

I enjoyed this when it came out and I was still getting fully into 'real' metal, but it hasn't aged well at all. It sounds like the generic hard rock/nu-metal of the era. The riffs are so basic that most of the songs sound like there's only one guitarist.

I remember not liking this album when it came out but in retrospect I think I was too harsh on it. It's not my favourite of theirs but it's still really good. It might not be as technical as some of their other albums but it's still got an awesome sound. It's catchy without being too simple, still quite aggressive and heavy when it wants to be.

This album, alongside FNF and StaGD, was also my introduction to Soilwork and basically for the whole "Melodic Death Metal" genre. Maybe it's not the most musically intricate album of them (all of their releases from 2010 onwards are on some next-level compared to it), but this is one of those records that really changed my life and expanded my musical horizons. StD is straight to the point, very heavy yet very melodic at the same time, and undeniably catchy in all of it - very few records can do it all so good like this one. A true gem of a record, if you ask me.

To me, this is their best album. None of their other stuff tops this. Yes, even A Predator's Portrait and The Living Infinite. Sure, the sound is more "American Metalcore" than you'd expect from Soilwork but damn they do it well. Just the right mixture of aggression and melody.

It's the closest thing they've ever made to a "Pantera-esque" record who I'm personally an en extremely big fan of... it's direct & to the point... but it's got the really thrashy one "Blind Eye Halo"... the 2 "softer" or mellower tunes "If Possible" & "Fate in Motion" I think it's a very well-made album... really hard to rank I'd call Stabbing, Living Infinite & Panic Broadcast my personal Top 3... tough call but Natural Born Chaos 4th (love it too...)

whole album is perfect (with both bonus tracks) except for "fate in motion" and "blind eye halo".

If you want to be technical, this is actually poppier than Figure Number Five...but something about it has more lasting power for me. It's probably something to do with the heavier drums and better lead guitar work.

Maybe it's not their greatest record but it's still really damn good looking back and at the age of 16 (about to be 17) this was like the SICKEST discovery ever. I bought it right before New Years 2007 in New York City at a Virgin Megastore (now gone) and brand new sealed it was only $1, they just had so many copies and must've been overstocked. What a blessing to find & brilliant introduction to Soilwork! I'm one of the babies who grew up on Pantera so I love crushing mid-tempo grooves.... this has that and some really amazing melodies and drumming

@DAnEmpire: It really isn't such a huge mystery when you actually think about it. Stabbing the Drama has the most radio-friendly songs, not to mention Soilwork was at the peak of it's popularity when it came out. Just because it's #1 on charts doesn't mean you have to like it. Each to their own.

....This is also the first album to feature new drummer Dirk Verbeuren, who brings a more technical approach to the band’s drumming compared to the previous two albums. WTF man ! the album had better drumming than Natural Born Chaos ??! you gotta be joking

Weird how many people are saying this is their best, I think it's probably their worst. [3]

I think the sound of this album goes more by harcore rhythm obviously with their other influences like heavy metal, a little bit of thrash, progressive and of course gothenburg metal but most I believe, hardcore. Horrible sound drumming? the drums here sounds fantastic...WTF!!!! One of their best albums among NBC and TPB.
