I've also been collecting music in the past year. Although Amethystium, a genuine musician for an imaginative man like me, was a catalyst for me to collect other types of music, Soma FM inspired me to start my own stash of ambient music and maybe contribute to the recirculation of the stuff that is long since discontinued. I've become a treasure hunter in my own words, although I have to spend my fortune to acquire it. It's like creating my own personal Soma FM, although I respect the real station and what it is today, for me to listen to and space out to wherever internet radio is not easily accessible. I am also a composer and another solution for me to get along in a world where the old stuff is almost out of the picture is to make the old stuff as my own. I compose works in the styles of the old masters and I enjoy it. Thank you, Soma FM. You have been a big influence in my musical life and I will honor you for all time. Kudos to you. =)

You know something, Space Station Soma, my favorite station, seems to becoming less and less what it used to be in 2007 when I first heard it. Back then, Rusty spun really good stuff, including this one song I'm still searching for the title of (it has a sample of a man saying "For the first time in nuclear history, the United States...." and so on). It was before I knew the name of the station that I heard it once and never again since. The music I heard on Soma FM that I really liked was somewhat experimental and used sounds that the human mind could not imagine. It had harmonies and tone colors that transport me places that I never could perceive before. I think its the stuff from the 90's that strikes me; the stuff that's now out of print and may never be easily procured again (I hope Amazon's Back from the Vaults service works and helps). A bit of the new stuff doesn't move me as much, although there may be a few daisies in the dry brush that will.

Always the best. Digitalis will make you happy, no matter who you are or what you like. Too bad I can't scrobble my listening of their stations. It would be awesome to see the time I've spent listening in days. /played
