From the 9th to 10th minute it reminds me heavily of Rush's - Tom Sawyer, the tone of the bass and the melody.

the last minutes of this song gets really fucking boring making the song too long. i just skip that part. it's so out of place and odd. i generally like oddness in music, but this isn't enjoyable kind of oddness.

i knew that i heard something like that before. now when i listen anyway, i experience the same feelings as when listening the watchmaker. it's really weird, he probably listened that record when making this album lol

He has been remastering prog classics for the last decade and that includes Genesis.

Anything on that album is similar to something from 70s Prog Rock ... Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, Rush... (-:

Cried on the gig (saw it on Raven tour). Great song for testing audio systems btw.

This song played live is indeed wholesome. The visual component and Bass Communion introduction just completes an already twisted song.

The live version they're performing with that (what I find to be a very unsettling) intro video truly makes this song.

I agree with many of you with the ending. I think it's terrific and it could have been extended to some 2 o 3 melodies more. The way it really is it's like something's missing, and it's a damn shame, because this song is growing very fuckin' well throughout all the minutes. In fact, until the first five munites, it seems it's going to be the best song on the record.

@pingywings I think its parallels between the complexity of a watch and progressive rock music. Also, "the watchmaker" could be a reference to God, a topic many bands (including non-prog groups) write about.

i believe it's a little pink floyd, genesis, rush tribute in a way, great song though

A beautiful bitter-sweet build to a profoundly disturbing end. Love it. @trwolfe No idea, happens everywhere you go. People are obsessed with comparing music to something else. It may be instinctive but it's fucking annoying.

Steve learn from masters, Hackett, Fripp and yes bit of Pink Floyd's "Animals", Oceansize? "Deliverance"...I completely agree with my friend -"He included whole prog rock in this song!".

It reminds me a lot of Genesis "The musical box", but despite this I find it to be nothing less than perfect. The first part of the song is SO beautiful and the transition to the more intense ending is a work of genius. One of the peaks of Wilson's long career IMO.

Quasi-tribute to Genesis.... 12-string at the beginning is reminiscent of "Can-Utility..", piano swirls at the second half remind "Anyway". Similar approach to Floyd-like "Time Flies" . Indeed work with Steve Hackett brought his influence to SW's sound, as well as with Robert Fripp before.

This song could be divided in three parts... The first part remind me of Tears from Rush... The second one to some Yes or some Genesis songs... And the third one to Oceansize... Awesome as well!
