going to break into a nearby elderly care home and force them to line dance to their music

ok i hope they come back to europe again soon they're a cool band that to me is very reminiscent of first wave industrial (as well as power electronics obv) while still feeling very modern and original at the same time

I tried getting into them once and the vocals weirdly reminded me of Orgy. I think I'd rather just listen to Orgy tbh

Nice Lain pfp. That hairdo is just one of many ways Street Sects channel the darkness and degradation of life.

These guys & Death Grips easily my 2 favourite bands. Such out of this world avant garde music that could have only been conceived in this decade.

God damn, The Kicking Mule has become one of my favorite records ever. What a masterpiece of noir violence, angst and deep depression. The stories in this are absolutely bonkers.

I just discovered Street Sects today. I will be listening to them hundreds or thousands of times between now and the Clairvoyance Festival!

Kicking Mule has surpassed End Position already in my scrobbles. Absolutely fantastic album.

Think these guys are pretty avant-garde. I mean who else is making music like this

They've decided they want to move in a more melodic direction with their sound. I've realized if you keep mentally comparing the new tape to the 1st tape you will never be able to fully get into it. After listening to it 4 times I've realized the way to enjoy the new tape is to consider as a standalone project as if this was the first time you were ever hearing them. That way you can truly appreciate the quality of what they've produced. Also listening on shuffle helped, makes it feel more disjointed and uncomfortable like the 1st tape

On 1st listen, new album feels like a watered down, more accessible version of End Position

The feeling didn't change after the 2nd listen. Will give it a few more spins.

Yh I love new album now. Was able to get into it when I just went clean slate and stopped thinking of it like it should be End Position v2.0

Exactly. I slowly started liking The Kicking Mule even more than End Position throughout 2018, and that's not an easy feat.

The Kicking Mule is a grower. Didn't like it at first, but holy shit, I'm addicted to it now.

I want to like it, but it doesn't have that edginess in the sound that got my attention in the first place. "The Drifter" is awesome, though.

There are great elements in all of the songs, but the use of empty space is a bit gratuitous, and there are times (take "269 Soulmates" after the half-second guitar break) where it seems like the percussion should increase in intensity but the track fizzles out. There are still good cuts, sure (all three singles, "Before It Was Worn" and "Suicide by Cop"), but a lot of underdeveloped material within.

Seeing them again in November baby! Hoping for at least two seizures and a heartattack in the audience.
