Last night Bridget Lynch from Stabbing did her whole set and then filled in for Ricky because he had strep and it was amazing

Also shoutout to Suffocation for still playing their set despite missing their vocalist. A lot of bands might've folded

fun new album! but i'm slightly distracted by the engineering, specifically the drums. The snare sound especially is a little intrusive. It needs a warmer, rounder sound.

Of The Dark Light kicks serious ass, so many slams, hooks, riffs, and good leads. The mix sounded thin and weird though. Apocrypha has a much better production sound for sure! Nice and brutal. More techy and not as catchy as OTDL.

I completely agree about Of The Dark Light, the songwriting is pretty good and still on par with what Suffocation is capable of. The new album is solid, but seems less memorable to me, and also the lack of Frank Mullen performance in its entirely is sorely missing here.

A little bit disappointed by the new track... Not a lot that caught my ears, and way too clicky drums for me. And that Photoshop discount Dan Seagrave lookalike is really meh, too. Hoping the rest of the album will surprise me so it won't be 6 years of waiting for a dud.

I hope the same will happen for me. I'll wait for the full release, though, and give it a full spin.

New album coming this November. And they will re-record Ignorant Deprivation for it!

They need to re-record "Breeding The Spawn" all in one session already and release it as an album.

BTW, Frank confirmed in recent interview he will be doing vocals on this track's re-recording.

as of today, I have a 17-year "lastfm" subscription. the band I've listened to the most in these 17 years is "suffocation" with 14,207 socroppings. my most listened to is "suffocation" album; "Effigy of the Forgotten" with 2,782 socroppings. I don't get tired of listening to this band. It is of such quality that I discover new things in "suffocation" music over the years. I will love this band to death. I'm the world's biggest "suffocation" fan. Your life has become more beautiful with the information I have given you. I know.

Suffocation kicks ass! Saw them live only once and it wasn't with Frank Mullen. However, they were still good live without him!

Human Waste is my favorite out of all their releases. To me, it's the ultimate death metal EP. The self-titled album is my favorite full-length album overall. Effigy of the Forgotten is my favorite older album. Pierced from Within is probably my 2nd favorite. My least favorite album has to be ...of the Dark Light.

So many bands try to emulate Suffocation, but there will only ever be one Suffocation.

6 of the album's 8 tracks have already appeared as rerecordings on their other albums, pretty obvious that it won't happen. Also the mix on the original album isn't even bad, relistened to it a couple days ago and it's a lot better than I remember it being. People who insist on calling themselves death metal fans and complain about the production on Breeding the Spawn need to find another genre.

No. Wrong. There is nothing good about the production on that album. You're not scoring any hipster points. Human Waste's production? Lo-fi yet amazing, it's well mixed and all the instruments are well recorded. BTS' has no guitars in the mix, presumably because they realized they were so badly recorded that hiding them would be better than hearing them.

Get a load of this guys memes. You think I said that because I'm trying to be hipster on a dead-ass site where 90% of the population are nerds like you? Dank joke kid, go tell your parents about that too, I'm sure they'll be proud. Next time you do attempt to be a smart-ass, try to do some brain-exercises beforehand because apparently your IQ isn't even high enough to properly analyze a single-paragraph text - at no point I said that the production is "good", I said that it isn't as bad as people claim it to be. And since you insist that guitars there are inaudible, "find another genre" applies to you correctly.

@ AMx93: "The Breeding the Spawn remix is particularly good." <= I'm not aware "Breeding the Spawn" was remixed ... ever! Google does not help. Please let us know about this ...
