as i listen to this again i realize this belonged to a very specific time in my life. it's like soaking in the feeling of that particular period of my life. i love that music can do that when it has resided still in your memory for a long time. i sometimes find susumu yokota's music to be really quite dreary and devoid of life, in a peculiar way. i can't explain it very well. it's like looking at a painting of a sunrise, but the sun isn't depicted where it should be, and phony rays of light emerge from a meaningless void. it's an odd and lonely feeling. yet i can't stop listening and drench myself in it.

a fluorescent sun and drywall horizons, fountain-fed rivers and trompe l’oeil landscapes with eerily robotic human and animal silhouettes moving in the distance—so fake it's sublime

To quote Insane Clown Posse (oh God, what have I done), this album is pure motherfuckin' magic. It takes you places, far off places.
