Couldn't agree more, and it's frankly rude to accuse her of not being true to herself and her art. Nothing about her suggests that she isn't genuinely making music she wants to make.

Cranekiss is an impossibly good album that nothing could live up to...but Angels of Sweat, Path to Love, and Terrified are really amazing songs for me, and I'm grateful that she recorded them.

I can not understand what happened. The vocals changed dramatically for the worse. There was a strange accent, fall in singing. Is this really Tamaryn singing?

The new record is just good. That's it. I've always been amazed by her sound and evolution she had been through the years. It is not easy to create a record like "Cranekiss" with all shoegaze-pop blend. But now, the new record is just a simple 80's electronic dance record which makes me surprised in a bad way. I wish the new songs have the same formula as "Path To Love" but most of the songs just make me feel blank. Anyway, I will always support her because she is a hidden gem in our generation.

I would like to know which 80s dance albums this reminds you of, because I probably haven't heard any of them, and I would certainly like to. I mean, I'm sure you can point to one song and find another song that's in the same vein, but as a whole? There's a lot of variation on this record, no? My feeling is that this album is, on average, "just good", like you said, but it *does* reach greatness on a few tracks. That's an important distinction for me. I'd have to recommend this album to anyone who's a fan of Cranekiss just for those 3-4 great tracks.

I was thinking about editing my comment after a lot of listening sessions because it grows on me. :) what I mean about this record is Tamaryn was so good on mixing shoegaze and electro-pop, synthwave. But now the sound is only electro-pop. There are a few songs such as Path to Love, Dreaming the Dark and Terrified still have the previous mixture but the rest sounds like Soft Cell, Tears For Fears (soundwise). Other than this it is a good album not great as Cranekiss. But the songs I mentioned are really so good.

I feel you. I actually wish more stuff sounded like Tears for Fears, too, to be fair.

Dreaming the Dark lands as her most boundary pushing, lushly orchestrated return, transcending her influences. A pulsating listen.

I Won't Be Found is pretty decent IMO. I like the mood it establishes as you near the conclusion of the record.

pretty good new album.. i was a lot disappointed with their second release. This one is pretty nice with the exception of: I Won't Be Found and intruder. The rest of the album is pretty nice
