Tartar Lamb is the duo of Toby Driver and Mia Matsumiya (of avant-garde rock group Kayo Dot), put together specifically to perform and record Toby's long-form violin and electric guitar duet, "Sixty Metonymies," and with the potential to move on to other pieces in the future. A second piece, "Polyimage of Known Exits", has been financed by fan donations and was released under the name Tartar Lamb II. For the recording of "Sixty Metonymies," Tartar Lamb was augmented by the participation of Tim Byrnes (trumpet) and Andrew Greenwald (drums) of The Friendly Bears for the recording.

The self-released, full-length CD package of "Sixty Metonymies" features the title piece, a modern electroacoustic quartet exquisitely recorded by Randall Dunn (Sunn0))), Earth, Kinski, etc) and beautiful hand-painted artwork by Toby printed in a high-quality parchment insert and contained in a classy fiberboard jacket. Twenty-one months in the making and 100% self-financed, the artists went through great personal strife just to bring you this delicious CD. It is on sale for $12 plus shipping (see shipping costs below). If you'd like to buy a copy, please send payment to shirts@kayodot.net. Thank you!
