whatever you do don't think about how this song is called the great war which was another name for ww1 and when everyone thought they survived it and thought they'd overcome everything fucking ww2 happened a few decades later which implies that when the narrator thought she'd overcome everything with her partner a greater war came to tear them apart hahahahha

I feel very Normal about this song. It’s so cool and detailed. ‘my knuckles were bruised like violets' ok. lemme just lie down and flop around fishlike while whisper-screaming the lyrics. did you know it's track 14 and the 'great war' is another name for WWI which started in 1914. do you think the drums sound like bombs landing and their echoing explosions. did you know that 'violets', 'poppy' and 'morning glory' are the birth month flowers of feb, aug and sep respectively so 'no morning glory' might’ve implied there was no sep because they didn’t make it. did you know all the mentioned flowers could be red, the color of blood, hence bloodshed. did you notice the many rhyming pairs throughout the song and such rhetorical devices, when used in excess, can bring a lighter tone to the piece of work; and this goes hand in hand with the catchy, 96bpm beat. like when soldiers would often joke with each other even in perilous times and how humor helps people cope during wartime. did you
