"I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it" is the second album by the British indie rock band The 1975, released on 26 February 2016. Upon its release, the album received positive reviews from critics. Several publications, including Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and The Guardian, listed it as one of the best albums of 2016. It was also a commercial success, topping the charts in the United Kingdom and the United States, and its box set received a nomination for Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package at the 2017 Grammy Awards.

After the successful and positive release of The 1975's first album, vocalist/guitarist Matthew Healy tweeted "// i like it when you sleep - for you are so beautiful - yet so unaware of it //" on 15 January 2014.

On 1 June 2015, the band's social media accounts were deleted, which caused mass speculation of both fans and media alike. After that, Healy tweeted again, but revealed a cryptic and symbolic comic strip containing the message of that the band went on hiatus. A blurred Instagram picture from Healy titled "The 1975-2" also set the anticipation for the release of the album. The next day, the social media accounts for The 1975 were reinstated.

The tweet by Healy was verified as the name for their sophomore album later on October of that year, with the release of "Love Me", a "very funky new single" released on 8 October 2015. The band released UGH! as the second single from the album on 10 December 2015. The album's third single, "The Sound", was debuted on 14 January 2016. "Somebody Else" is the fourth single from the album; it debuted on Apple Music's Beats 1 Radio with Zane Lowe on 15 February 2016, and was released on iTunes and Spotify a day later.
