This is one of those rock solid quality pop (read: happy) songs that cynical John doesn’t care for. But the drums are FANTASTIC and of course the piano is stellar. People need to stop fussing about a song over fifty years old and go outside more, sheesh.

about 5 years ago i started dating someone who lived with their family, and the family had a old little calico cat named Sunshine. as far as i know she wasn't named after this song. around that time i was getting really into Revolver and i would sing Good Day Sunshine to her all the time while petting her and she'd look up at me and purr, looking very tired but very content. even on days that weren't so good i would sing to her. after my partner and i dated for about a year and 1/2, one evening we broke up very suddenly and not on good terms. i never even got a chance to say goodbye to Sunshine. i wonder if she's still alive now, she was quite old back then. i miss her more than i miss my ex....

Not sure how anyone could call this the worst Beatles song. It's a fantastic piece of glossy pop.

And Your Bird Can Sing is a better song but I wouldn't skip over Good Day Sunshine.

Another one of Paul's 'I'm in love...' Which means he's really singing about walking in the morning sun with a fat J. Serious man, I'm down too. Even after that tire going out...

olol. I like this one. The only bad song on Revolver is Yellow Submarine anyway.

This is a good, light-hearted Beatles song...time to go back into your cave Nakkinak.
