One of the best albums of the 80s. The Chameleons are honestly just as good as, if not better than their more famous post-punk contemporaries and this album proves it. All tracks on this are great, but the epic "Second Skin" is the best of them all. That moment when the guitars kick in after 20 seconds gets me every time.

Every time I listen to this album I realize that I have underestimated this record's beauty.

Remember buying Script of the Bridge after hearing The Chameleons in session on the John Peel Show. Julian Cope was on the same night.

Oops sorry, just saw this. The reunion album was Why Call It Anything? and the two acoustic records can be bought as a set here: https://www.amazon.com/Acoustic-Sessions-Chameleons/dp/B0049VGR26

Also check out Mark's solo band Mark Burgess and The Sons of God. Mark uses John Lever of The Chameleons on drums and it sounds just like the full band in both intensity and emotional expression.

Three months later, and this is one of my favourite albums now. Perfect from start to finish.

A Person Isn't Safe Anywhere These Days & Second Skin are amazing tracks. Outstanding album, maybe the best post punk record ever existed

Have this album on cassette, 1983 press but it's US version. Some of my fave tracks like Less than Human and View from a Hill are not there

Un disco que comienza con tanta calidad no puede concluir de otra forma que no sea con los últimos minutos de View from a Hill. Un álbum tremendo.

One of my 10 most favourite post-punk albums. I can only listen to it when I'm sure there's no sun for the duration of this album, especially in late autumn. Then it's almost perfect.

hard to find albums that are stellar from beginning to end, but this is definitely one of them.

This is always the album I come to when I lose track of things, It reminds me of who I am, and in a sense 'what is'. I cant put it into words clearly but this is an extremely personal album for me. Something about it all connects with me on a personal level. I've listened to it a million times by now but each time I do its like a new listen, a new experience, I take something new from it. The lyrics and instruments are so vivid and clear, its polished and smooth. IN a whole this is the most brilliant album Ive listened to. Like I was saying If i ever feel disconnected from the world or lost in a transition of moods and ideas this album helps me tie them all back together and realize everything.

There's always a time to go back remembering those years when Chameleons & Script meant everything to you .... it's like taking a View from the Hill, back on the tracks that you've followed

haven't listened to it as much as "don't fall" and "up the down escalator" but I think "view from a hill" is my favorite song
