the days of wine of roses might be one of the greatest songs ever made, a rare masterpiece

The Dream Syndicate "The days of wine and roses" 1982. This is their masterpiece, even if "Medicine Show" in 1984 and "livee at the Raji's" of 1989 are other jewels that not to be ignored. lineup: Steve Wynn - guitar and vocals - Karl Precoda - guitar - Kendra Smith - bass and vocals - Dennis Duck - drums..-. Om Hari Om ... ૐ

Great band from the 80s. So overlooked because of the success of their peers, namely R.E.M. and The Replacements. But these guys are right up there with those two, and actually, maybe more so since they're a little harder edged than the other two. The Dream Syndicate was actaully Chris Robinson's (from Black Crowes) favorite band in college.

@rtom87 I was just thinking the same thing. I the start of "Tell Me When It's Over" reminds me of "Don't You (Forget About Me)".

The Days of Wine and Roses is a classic LP. Never really liked anything else by them though

I love the additional tracks on the Days of Wine and Roses reissue! They have a slightly more lo-fi feel to them, which I think fits them really well.

My favorite radio station of all time (KUKQ) used to play "I Have Faith" all the time and that song brings back many great memories. I miss that song :(

Being recognized is not the contrary to being underrated. To be underrated is to be under-appreciated by those who can recognize the band. The set of people listening to the band may be very small or very large. Thus a band can be both underrated and "VERY recognized."

First e.p and "Days of Wine and Roses" are superb; "The Medicine Show" less so. After that, pretty awful MOR. They're named after La Monte Young's group in the late '60s (who should've sued them!--haha) Check out Kendra Smith's solo work!
