Biography
There are at least two bands called The Peasants.
1. The Peasants were an alt-pop group based in Nelson, New Zealand. The band gained acclaim and Kiwi music success as winners of the 2011 National Smokefree Rock Quest. Formerly known as the 2010 second place-getters Peasants of Eden, The Peasants offer a dynamic on stage performance displaying their youthful energy while performing a tight and mature sound true to their sense of musicality. They disbanded in 2014 after differing artistic directions caused clashes within the group. The members now all pursue other careers in music - the most successful of these are Caleb and Georgia Nott, now the sibling double act Broods.
2. The Peasants were a very short-lived British beat / mod band of the mid-1960s. As far as we know they released just one single: 'Got Some Lovin' For Your Baby' b/w 'Let's Get Together' (Columbia, 1965).
