Can't say that I've listened to a lot of old SP tracks before, and I'm definitely not a fan of or a specialist on this band. BUT: this album, that I stumped upon, I definitelly like. 60% of the tracks (19 out of 32) I consider interesting, pleasant and not filler-material. And out of these 60% some tracks I liked especially -- like "Embracer" (from cd1), "Moss" (cd2), "The Canary Trainer" (cd3) and many others. And Part 2 of the album is imho the best of the three, without any doubt (not Part 3 as many people consider for some reason).

This space opera concept and the melancholic-progressive sound give me the vibes of Klaatu's "Hope" album (1977)

I welcome new music but this seems a bit ridiculous for a band that have been treading water for so long

I think we're going to have a hard time agreeing what the actual tag is for this album.
