Exit Wounds

Exit Wounds (2021) is the seventh album from American rock band The Wallflowers.
It was produced and recorded by Butch Walker at RubyRed Productions in Santa Monica, CA and was released by New West Records on July 9th, 2021.

Jakob Dylan wrote all of the songs for the album. The majority of the players on Exit Wounds are members of Walker’s regular band, with additional musicians Val McCallum on guitar, and Shelby Lynne on vocals.

The band premiered the first single, “Roots And Wings” on Jimmy Kimmel Live on April 8th, 2021.

Jakob said of the album’s title:

“I think everybody — no matter what side of the aisle you’re on — wherever we’re going to next, we’re all taking a lot of exit wounds with us. Nobody is the same as they were four years ago. That, to me, is what Exit Wounds signifies. And it’s not meant to be negative at all. It just means that wherever you’re headed, even if it’s to a better place, you leave people and things behind, and you think about those people and those things and you carry them with you.”
