His arctic works are essential but I encourage to listen to La Barca, it's a stellar urban ambient work, diverse but conceptually connected, a quality of the atmosphere it creates is very high.

Not a bad record, it just sounds a lot more like Porter Ricks than Koner solo. It's great that he's trying new sounds, well he's been doing it for last 20 years... but I really wish he would come bck with some kick-ass freezing ambient record a'la 90s.

My basecamp music of all time. Of all the artist i've heard this artist went the deepest into the core of my excistence. He just makes music on another level. Northaunt comes close with his dark ambient anthem album and istid. Especially Aubrite,Permafrost are the resorts he made i dissolve in. This man is pure genius make no mistake.

while listening to tiento de la luz I couldn't help but think of this as a bohren & cofg tribute album. it just really had a very similiar vibe to me.

I like to sleep to his music, hence my amount of scrobbles - it's not that I go everywhere with his music in my headphones, even if I wanted to... So de La Luz it's nice to sleep to. but not that much great album anyway.

I agree, it really works as music to sleep to... not a bad album at all though, but definitely weaker than his previous works

so, let's see, according to you logic: you've only scrobbled him SEVEN times, mostly all of them this year (around may, when you posted this) and yet here you are... your lack of scrobbles didnt stop you from posting here as if you were the biggest fan (nor it should since it shouldnt matter) just as his bunch of scrobbles dont necessarily mean it's really his cup of tea :)

i usually tend to recommend aubrite or daikan as a starting point, you'd have to be willing to spend a whole hour listening to just one track in full though

Tiento de la Luz is quite good. It reminds me more of something Oren Ambarchi would do than the other works of his that I'm a familiar with.

Yes. Daikan is absolutely incredible. I'd say it's probably his best. If anyone loves Köner's music but only has the time for juggling a few albums, make room for Daikan.

One the best ambient composers. His works are dense cure for sleeplessness... especially Aubrite (Takla-Makan) successfully tested on repeated occasions...

At last - bought Driftworks, now I "only" have to get La Barca and Tiento, then my TK discography will be complete. How about yours? It's too quiet here, maybe we can start some discussion, hehe.

Not really anything new, Köner's been using this technique of slowed-down and delayed piano for quite some time, see "Les Sours Lumiére".

I can recommend his best tracks imho: Tabula Smaragdina and all Kaamos (Kaamos), Nuuk Air (Nuuk), Ilira (Teimo), Grohuk Day (Aubrite) and Daikan.
