"Toby Keith's guitar is red, white and blue / But Toby Keith you ain't fooling me / You'd have been sucking up to Hitler / If you'd have lived back in Germany" what a piece of shit

This song makes me want to assfuck a big-titted blonde on top of Mount Rushmore while wearing an American flag cape blowing in the wind and a squadron of fighter jets crack the sky overhead and I'm chugging a Budweiser

Fascinating piece of early-'00s corn. And I like corn! Although this song gets plenty of hate nowadays, I think most of it is unjustified. I'd say a majority of Americans supported military action in response to 9/11, and that sentiment is exactly what this song captures. This song has nothing to do with the Iraq War or war for war's sake--it's about the feelings that arise when thousands of Americans are killed in their own country by a foreign enemy. Also, country music is considered uncool among a sizable population of Americans, and so is blatant national pride. When you combine the two, you get a lot of complainers.

This song established Toby Keith as an unwavering supporter of the American armed forces and a staunch supporter of the Bush administration. Those that didn't share Keith's views felt that this song perpetuated a view of Americans as simple-minded thugs, particularly the lyrics, "We'll put a boot in your ass, it's the American way." Keith got a lot more attention when he spoke out against The Dixie Chicks after Natalie Maines said that she was "Ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas." http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=5041

I like this song. Perhaps because I am a Marine (1973-76) or perhaps I am a retard. Whatever the case may be, if you love it or hate it you have THE RIGHT TO SAY SO because BRAVE men and women have died for you and me to express our views, to say what we feel without worry of the Government coming down upon us....YET! End of story.
