Biography

Great 2nd-3rd wave Industrial band who landed a hit on the Slava compilation from Blond Vinyl Records.

MTF (More Than Flesh) Records, a brand new indie label, is currently promoting their flagship release Systems Failure by the techno-industrial band Toxic Church. This album is definitely old school style industrial reminiscent of earlier works by Front 242 and Skinny Puppy. Some of you are sure to remember the band from the single they released on the Slava / Blonde Vinyl compilation Voice of the People. The single was entitled "Pharmakeia". They received positive response from the single and generous airplay. Needless to say they were offered a contract to release the album Systems Failure on Blonde Vinyl Records. Unfortunately the company folded before contracts could be finalized! This left Toxic Church with a stack of requests from individuals, stores and radio stations for the entire album and no label to release it on. The album was shopped around, it received a few nibbles and one good bite from a pretty decent label. But unfortunately, a lot of time had passed and the band began to fade from public memory. Not wanting to compound the situation with a possible long negotiation with the label that was interested, Toxic Church formed MTF Records as a legitimate no nonsense indie label that will feature other visionary artists, without the corporate run around.
The name Toxic Church is based on 2 Cor. 2:14-16. The name reflecting their belief that the church should be toxic to the world system of operation. A system that has completely failed. They have an evangelistic stance for the lost, and a desire to encourage Christian youth to be mighty warriors living in the power of the Holy Spirit. Response has been positive in both the secular and Christian markets. Opening for bands like Painted Orange and Circle of Dust has helped Toxic Church forge ahead with their ministry to Generation-X.

The song Turn Around is featured on the Terra Firma vs. The Atmosphere, Part 3 of the Cataclysm Singles
