“MAFIA” is the Side B to the double-single released by Houstin rapper Travis Scott, ESCAPE PLAN / MAFIA. At the time this was presumed to be promotion for his fourth studio album, UTOPIA, however, during Scott's first live performance of UTOPIA at CIRCUS MAXIMUS he mentioned deciding between “MAFIA” and “I KNOW ?” for the final album tracklist - the latter being chosen in the end.
With an uncredited feature from J. Cole, Travis goes on a bragging spree, shouting out his record label, Cactus Jack, and the business moves he has been making over the past three years in the process.
The beat is aptly and meticulously produced consisting of a possessive effect and an eerie dark vibe to it, a theme consistent with Scott's fourth studio album UTOPIA.
