How the fuck did he make this in the 80s, the whole album sounds like it could drop the next year and still people would be hailing it off as innovative.

If it wasn't for this masterpiece, I don't think I'd enjoy electronic music as I do right now. Thanks for this, forever.

My favorite movie and probably my favorite film score/soundtrack ever. Beautiful. Can't imagine the movie without it.

Same here. Blade Runner is absolutely my favorite movie as well. Also, as brilliant as Scott's vision and direction were, there is no way this movie would be such a classic without Vangelis' haunting score.

I agree completely! The beautiful, haunting music adds so much to the film, as the best scores/soundtracks do. And like the best film music, Vangelis' work here can be listened to on its own because it's great art.

It's barely hans Zimmer's album. Most of the composing was done by Wallfish with Zimmer mainly doing configuration settings and lending his name for commercial visibility. Seriously, did you actually listen to the score? It sounds nothing like Zimmer. Btw, the 2049 score is very good and overall a more balanced score which the original isn't at all (but its highlights are superior).

I actually did listen to the score and I was not able to tell that Wallfish was the one who basically composed the score since, as you said, Hans Zimmer's name was used for commercial visibility. Cool to know that I was actually listening to Wallfish's stuff with Zimmer's configs. The 2049 score definitely works for 2049 score and Vangelis' score works for the 1982 Blade Runner. That being said, Vangelis' stuff works way better for me even if I've seen the movie or not. "It's barely Hans Zimmer's album. Most of the composing was done by Wallfish with Zimmer mainly doing configuration settings and lending his name for commercial visibility." <--- This is a very fucking odd thing to do IMO.

Really hope Jóhann Jóhannsson‘s work on the film sees the light of day at some point

I've... seen things you people wouldn't believe! Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost... in time, like... tears in rain.

Film wouldn't work half as well without the soundtrack but somehow the soundtrack works well enough on its own. Blade Runner Blues is the best perfect track for gazing down on lonely city streets at night.
