Album is a serious grower. I liked it on first listen, but it's revealed a lot of depth on subsequent listens that aren't easy to get at initially. I think "Better Ghost" is the best song by some margin, and it's one of the songs from last year that keeps haunting me. Almost everything is perfect, but especially that chorus. I don't know if I heard a better chorus last year. Everything: the instrumentation, the vocals, even the lyrics. It's a message a lot of people need to hear over and over, and I include myself in that category. I don't want to overlook the rest of the album, though. It's all really good. While I'd have loved more material like their 10" EP as Vattnet Viskar, I'm also pleased that they've had such success reinventing themselves. Not going to change the band name in my library, though; sorry.

…apparently broken up now. Too bad. Evidently at least some of the band members are planning other music projects, though, so at least there's that.

... last time I listened to the album, I realised that what I characterised as the chorus of "Better Ghost" actually occurs exactly once in the song. I think there's no doubt that it's the chorus, though. Post-rock is weird. In case there's any doubt, it's the "It's OK to say you made a fucking mistake" part.

I can't say they suck but I really didn't get why people tag them as "black metal".

I may be late answering there, but it's because they were a black metal band before changing the name, so I may assume that some people could tag them like that before even listening to their new material.

Can't decide if I'm disappointed in the new album or not. On one hand, I like it ... on the other, I was hoping for something in style of their last album ("Settler"). Hm. Guess I'll let it sink in for a while.

I've decided... it's really freaking good. With "Sugar" and "Chains" being the best tracks by far.

I don't usually listen to stuff like their new album, and I'm not even 100% sure how to categorise it (a fusion of prog/post-metal and emo maybe?), but I quite enjoyed it on my first listen. Their music seems even more intricate now; more odd time signatures and the like. Vocals are quite good too. Interested to see where they take their sound next.
