The song is all in 4/4 time, and the original tempo is around 100 BPM. It's a very clever arrangement: the intro is on the beat of each bar at the start. The shuffle on the snare is semi triplets which give the illusion of the song speeding up. You have to quantize drum machines to a 6th beat. Consequently the chorus is doubled up to give the impression that the tempo has speeded up to 200 BPM. You have to transpose the 4/4 bar so it can be played with in 1 beat of the bar. It does take a bit of lateral thinking to get your head around the math, but the song is all 4/4 at 100 BPM. http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=3397

covers should have an added personal touch... this one sounds like a cheap fake rolex :-( nothing against the band and I don't dislike the song, but I'm still skipping to the next track

i also like a few other white lion tunes besides this but the versions are so bad i just can't listen which is a shame because this is a band i really like.i refuse to add a song to my library when it sounds like a karoke rendition. (2)

I know this is a cover of golden earring, but this is not the original single that was released by White Lion. Why are there so many re-recorded songs? Especially hair metal. Is that because the record company retained the rights to the recording, so the artist had to re-record with lots less production value? (2)

I like this way better than the golden earring version - it's too slow and sappy sounding
