Lame? It was banned across the board and went number 1 in Ireland and Spain. The song was in response to Bloody Sunday in 1972 and caused people to actually question Great Britain's policies in Northern Ireland. Lame, if you say so, this was an important song if not better than a lot of Lennon's political songs and resulted in one of the band member's brothers to get beat up in response to the song in Northern Ireland. On what grounds would you guys refer to this song as being lame?

I'd assume that the person you responded to knew nothing about the situation in Ireland.

pretty lame as a political/protest song, but catchy and good in a typical McCartney sort of way.
